When you pull off a crazy kill in Call of Duty or score an unbelievable touchdown in Madden, you deserve some bragging rights. To cash in on those bragging rights, though, you need to be able to share the clips with your friends, and doing so is about to get a whole lot easier with Stories on the Xbox app. This exciting new feature is already live in Australia, and it will be coming to the U.S. and other supported regions sooner rather than later.
If you're familiar with Snapchat's Stories feature, you'll feel right at home with the Xbox app's latest update. The Stories channel will be located right on the home screen of your Xbox app, and all you've got to do to create one is tap the "+" button on your gamertag. Next, you select the clip, screenshot, or achievement from your gallery that you want to upload. Once you've made your selection, you'll arrive at a preview page for your Story, where you can see how it will look to those who view it. If you want, you can also add a custom caption to go along with it, in case you want to include an explanation of the content or some funny commentary.
Then, once you've uploaded your Story, it will post to the Stories channel and your profile's activity feed. It will remain on the Stories channel for 72 hours, and while it's there, your friends and other members of the Xbox community will be able to view it. If they want, they'll also be able to reply to your content with a quick message or reaction. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to check out what your buddies and other players have been up to, you can browse the Stories channel and watch some of their gaming moments.
When it comes to what you can upload to your personal Stories, the possibilities are almost endless. You'll have the option to include video clips, screenshots, and specific achievements in your Stories.
If you want, you can turn your Story into a montage of all of your most impressive gaming moments, then sit back and wait for other gamers to take notice of your skills. Or, you could be a little more selective and only upload the craziest, funniest, and most unusual stuff. If other gamers realize how incredible your Stories are, they will keep coming back to watch. And who knows? You may even build a following and become known in the Xbox community for your mad skills and high-quality content. It could happen!
Before long, thousands of players all over the globe will be putting their best gaming moments on display through Stories on the Xbox app. You don't want to let them have all the fun, right? If this exciting new feature isn't available yet in your region, keep your eyes and ears open. It will arrive soon, so start saving your best clips, screenshots, and achievements now, and you can immediately begin sharing fun and engaging Stories when it does.
